CARE GUIDE:
Light: The Calathea is known to thrive in filtered light or soft light indoors. Avoid putting the plant to bright or direct sunlight as the leaves may get sunburnt and lose their magnificent colours.
Water: For best growing conditions, water the plant once every week and keep the soil evenly moist, but not soggy. Best is to wait for the top soil to dry out before watering and maintain a consistent and regular watering schedule for the Calathea. Avoid overwatering and use pots with drainage holes since excess water can lead to root rots and fungal issues. In Fall and Winter, watering should be reduced.
Temperature and humidity: Humidity is crucial for the Calathea, keeping the plant in high humidity environments. This can be acquired by using an external humidifier or placing the plant in the bathroom a few times a week.
In terms of temperature, the Calathea prefers medium to warm environments, however, should avoid putting the plant near heaters or air-conditioners since it may dry out the atmosphere and the plant can suffer from heat-shock.
Food: Use a combination of mixing pots with liquid or slow-releasing fertilizer once a month in spring and summer according to instructions.
Pet-friendly: The Calathe is non-toxic to pets and humans, which is safe for growing indoors.
