CARE GUIDE:
Light : Grow best indoors with bright indirect sunlight conditions. The plant can be kept outside under shade conditions in the summer but should avoid extended exposure to direct sunlight to avoid sunburnt.
If your plant is receiving insufficient light, the leaves may turn green instead of burgundy.
Water : The Ficus Ruby should be watered once every week to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Keep a consistent watering schedule but let the top soil dry out, checking the top soil before the next watering session. Avoid over-watering and use pots with drainage holes for minimal excess water. Reduced watering during fall and winter.
Temperature and humidity : The plant can grow well in home temperature and any humidity level. In fact, additional humidity from occasional misting or humidifier will support the plant. Should avoid placing the plant near an air-vent or big window during winter since the plant may be damaged from dryness or extreme cold weather.
The browning edges of the foliage are signs of lacking humidity, which can be avoided using regular misting or placing multiple plants together.
Food : Use a combination of mixing pots with liquid or slow-releasing fertilizer once a month in spring and summer according to instructions.
Pet-friendly : The Ficus Ruby is toxic, hence should be kept away from pets and small children.
